The National Police of the Republic of Indonesia (POLRI) is a state instrument that has the main task of maintaining public security and order. The National Police is also responsible for seeking, preventing and eliminating any symptoms that may arise and could disrupt security and order in society. However, there are still many public illnesses (concentrated), one example of which is the phenomenon of abuse of alcoholic herbal medicine which is still common, especially those with illegal status, which recently occurred in the Malangbong area, Garut Regency. The problem identified is how the role of the Malangbong Sector Police towards shops selling alcoholic herbal medicine is related to Article 15 paragraph (1) letter c of Law Number 2 of 2002 concerning the Police of the Republic of Indonesia. What are the obstacles experienced by the Malangbong Sector Police in preventing sale of alcoholic herbal medicine, and what efforts are being made by the Malangbong Sector Police to prevent the sale of alcoholic herbal medicine. The method used in writing this thesis is a descriptive analytical research method with a normative-empirical approach, namely a legal research method that is based on applicable legal norms and based on reality in the field. The role of the Malangbong Sector Police towards Shops Selling Alcoholic Herbal Medicine in connection with Article 15 Paragraph (1) Letter C of Law Number 2 of 2002 concerning the Police of the Republic of Indonesia has been implemented by the Malangbong Police by preventing and dealing with both producers and consumers of alcoholic herbal medicine. However, herbal medicine sellers are still selling, there are obstacles such as leaks of information regarding raids or operations on alcoholic herbal medicine, alcoholic herbal medicine sellers who are difficult to trace, lack of public awareness, lack of cooperation between the police and the community, sellers are less cooperative and sellers ignore legal regulations. In an effort to carry out raids such as securing evidence and perpetrators, imposing sanctions, conducting outreach and distributing pamphlets. It is hoped that law enforcers will look for more effective ways to intervene in the community to provide wider information regarding sellers of alcoholic herbal medicine because community participation can help the Malangbong Police in preventing and dealing with community illnesses, especially sellers of alcoholic herbal medicine.
